"Keep the Dream Alive" Campaign

In 2004-05, fans of American Dreams started a huge campaign to NBC in hopes that they would renew the show.  It began with sending postcards to the NBC presidents, and culminated in the purchase of an aerial banner that was flown over NBC Studios in Burbank, CA.  It was seen by NBC presidents Kevin Reilly and Jeff Zucker, as well as NBC stars Brian Williams and Ellen Degeneres.  Unfortunately, our favorite show was not renewed.

On a (somewhat) unrelated note, in 2007, fans Veronica Mars tried to get the attention of The CW in order to renew their favorite show.  They used our idea... an aerial banner!  Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.  ;)

Update from 5/27/05:

Unfortunately, the "Keep the Dream Alive" campaign has come to a close.  On May 18th, 2005, NBC announced its Fall Schedule, and American Dreams did not find a place on the schedule.  Many fans have contacted me regarding starting a campaign to other networks to get them to pick up the show... unfortunately that is not a possibility.  I would have been MORE than happy to spearhead a campaign to other networks, but American Dreams jumping to another network was just not a possibility.

No matter how hard it is to say, (or to accept!) the 'dream' of a Season 4 for American Dreams simply won't happen.  The sets have been taken down.  Show props have been sold.  The actors and crew have moved on to other projects.

Regardless of NBC's decision, I am still so amazed at the outpouring of support the show has received from fans.  Although we did not get the result we hoped for, fighting for a family-friendly show on television is certainly a cause worth working for.  I want to thank everyone who participated, you are wonderful!
